On the occasion of the International Day for Children, and as part of its extensive Corporate Social Responsibility program, the administrative and nursing staff visited the Smile of the Child, the Ark of the World, the SOS Children's Villages in Vari, the Doctors of the World and the Heart of a Child associations, vaccinating children and adults and ensuring a disease-free winter. We yet again marveled at the bravery and spontaneity of the children, their warm smiles and the kisses they gave us. The IASO Children's Hospital mission is continuing, aiming to make even more children healthier and spread hundreds of smiles.

The IASO Children's Hospital Pediatric Surgery Department has introduced a new, advanced surgical method to treat pilonidal cysts in children using an endoscopic laser, with impressive outcomes.
Surgical repair is performed endoscopically, under general anesthesia, using a camera, endoscopic tools and laser technology to achieve complete removal of hair and destruction of the cyst wall.
Drs. Georgios Pergamalis and Arsenios Georgiadis, Chief Surgeons at the IASO Children's Hospital Pediatric Surgery Department, explained that the EPSiT method offers significant advantages over conventional surgical repair of pilonidal cysts, particularly with regard to the absence of post-operative pain, shorter healing time and post-operative care and the best aesthetic outcome. The daily routine and personal hygiene (bowel movements, bathing, etc.) of our young patients is not disrupted and no particular care is needed. With this method, children can resume their daily activities the following day without experiencing the slightest burden either to themselves or to their families.
